Bodega Boys Take In the Met

"Artistry, know what I'm sayin'?"

"Back then the diet was mainly pine cones and turnips," opines Desus Nice while viewing John Singleton Copley's 1711 portrait of Daniel Commelin Verplanck with his pet squirrel at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

"How long do you think it took him to paint this?" he asks, comically confusing Copley with the late John Singleton, director of Boyz n the Hood. Kid Mero replies, "Probably like 30 minutes cause you know cocaine was not illegal back then."

"Definitely non-fungible, that's for sure."

It's that time of year again. 2020's Oscars were watched by 23.6 million viewers, the smallest audience in modern TV history, and about 30 million fewer than the 1998 Oscars.
