Foot Reflexology

I really like foot reflexology. I go at least a couple of times a month to a little shop where you're ushered quietly behind a heavy curtain into a dark room with calm music and about a dozen chairs where a team of Asian men and women work the kinks out of people's feet. There's no conversation, so what little I know about foot reflexology comes from reading about it online.

These articles have charts that show which parts of your feet, and which foot, align to different parts of your body.

Yet, when I'm in the chair I never think, "Oh good, now she's working on my ascending colon." 

I just think about how good my feet feel for the hour.

Anger Management

All the pundits say the electorate is angry. About the economy, trade, jobs, wages, border control, terrorism and security, among other issues.  Most of the editorializing is charged and partisan, some is thoughtful and honest. I'd put Georgia Senator David Perdue's writing in that latter camp.

In The Daily Signal, Senator Perdue explains Why Washington's Political Class is Losing Control.

"A recent survey of likely Republican primary voters showed that 86 percent believe that 'people like me don't have any say about what the government does.' Another recent exit poll in my home state of Georgia showed six in ten Republicans felt 'betrayed' by their political party.

This sentiment is something I heard countless times during my campaign for the United States Senate just over a short year ago. It is what pulled me to get involved personally to try and make a difference. But this is not just happening in Georgia. People across America are angry, frustrated, and scared because they feel like Washington isn't listening to them.

A growing number of Americans are more motivated by this feeling of frustration than any individual political ideology. The rise of career politicians has completely shifted the political paradigm from just liberal versus conservative. There is now a disconnect between the Washington political class and everybody else - the insiders versus the outsiders."

Mirror, Mirror

While watching a movie the other day, one of the characters said, "You have your whole life ahead of you." I've heard that phrase over the years and usually agreed with it, but this time my reaction was different because, well, it's just not true anymore.

Yet I don't feel old. When I look in the mirror I see the gray hair and wrinkles, but I still see my youthful, hopeful self.

It takes a long time to get old. This video does it in four minutes. It's not a bad thing.
