Menemsha Post Office

People associate Norman Rockwell's paintings and illustrations with the Saturday Evening Post. Though not as prolific, Stevan Dohanos, an artist who lived and worked in Westport, Connecticut, also captured mid-20th century America's small towns and people.

His painting of the Menemsha Post Office on Martha's Vineyard is currently on view and is for sale at the Granary Gallery in West Tisbury.

The NYT published an article yesterday about NATO by veteran journalist Steven Erlanger, the paper's chief diplomatic correspondent for Europe. It led to the following correction.

Adam Smith's "An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of The Wealth of Nations" was published in London 250 years ago on March 9, 1776. 

Smith's book is just as relevant and thought-provoking today.
